Half-Pint Daycare & Preschool, LLC

My name is Nichole Tarter and I started this business almost twelve years ago, when my child was still little.  I am like any other parent wanting the best for their child and my child was not receiving the care I felt he needed and not just from his childcare provider, but from me, not being able to be there for him during his formative years. I have a degree in Paralegal studies and that had me working non stop and leaving little, to no, time to spend with my child and my husband. So a friend of mine had mentioned that I should open up a child care business and I told her she was nuts!!  But after reviewing aspects about the childcare business and figuring out if I could make any money doing this business and doing a trial run working at a local daycare as a volunteer, I decided this was something I could do well and still provide for my family.  I also found that I understand and communicate well with children and have been doing this ever since, going on twelve years now.  I love what I do and working with children is so rewarding.  I love preparing them for kindergarten.  I love being the one to teach them to write their name for the first time and seeing the pride and confidence I have helped them build when they can write their name on their own for the first time.  It is a great moment when that happens!! I have over 100+ of hours of training in early childcare as well as life experiences which can never be taught in a book as I am sure any parent could agree. My goal in running this business is to provide a safe, rich learning environment, as well as a fun place for your child(ren) to attend and be proud of.  I have a great layout for my daycare/preschool for the kids and look forward to taking you and your child on a tour.  I look forward to meeting you in the near future!

A little about my family (the baby in the picture is my godson, Aidan, he is so sweet??). My son, William is an honor roll graduate from McKay High School.  He is currently enrolled at Chemeketa completing his undergrad degree before he transfers to OSU in the fall of 2012. He is also a 1st degree black belt in Taekwando and an all around great kid. My husband, Jeff, is a pump technician, crane operator, electrician, welder and much more here in Salem.  He is a hard worker and a great man. He is also a co-inventor/owner of a new product Wire Guard Alarms, LLC.  This is an alarm system that farmers use on their linears to guard against wire theft.  We have been married 13 years.

This is William my fantastic son!  He is currently attending Chemeketa and will be transferring to OSU in the fall of 2012 will be attending college in the fall.  He earn a double major in Computer Software Engineering and Art. And then will apply for California Highway Patrol Academy. He is a busy guy!  We are very proud of him! They grow up so fast!
